ANNUAL GOVERNANCE STATEMENT: POINT 4
Rainford Parish Council posted notices on its website and notice boards for the exercise of electors’ rights in accordance with the requirements of the Accounts and Audit regulations. However, due to exceptional circumstances, the accounts were only finalised on 25.06.2024 and the Annual Internal Audit Report 2023/24 had not been signed by 01.07.2024. This was signed on 03.07.2024 and the figures were not altered from those presented on 25.06.2024. The accounts were approved at a Council meeting on 10.07.2024 and submitted to the External Auditor on 12.07.2024.
If any electors had asked to exercise their rights, the accounts for 2023/24 would have been made available with an explanation, as above.
