John joined the Parish Council in September 2022 and became the Councillor for Randle Ward. He previously worked for Lancashire County Council before retiring in 2019 after 40 years’ service. John was part of a team responsible for the highway maintenance in the West Lancashire and Chorley District. Throughout his years of service, he has been involved in enquiries and disputes regarding issues on the highway. This inevitably led to building relationships with various members of the public through to parish, borough and county councillors and MP’s with the aim to mediate and solve problems effectively. John is firmly committed to supporting Rainford Parish. He was born as the third generation of a Rainford family and still resides here in the village, alongside his close family who are also active members within the community.
