Councillor Carol Whalley

Mosboro Ward Member of Community Liaison Committee, Village Hall Improvement Working Party, Rainford Christmas Fayre Working Party

I have become a Parish Councillor in order to continue to give back to the community that I was born and bred into and still live in. I am a mother to my own 2 children and stepmum to 3 and Nana to 6 grandchildren.
After selling my hairdressing business to bring up my 2 children I worked at Rainford High School before securing a job at Corpus Christi RC Primary School Rainford as a Play Worker in the After School Club. I worked hard and became a TA in the Reception class then progressed to starting Wraparound Care in the Nursery setting eventually becoming the manager in the Nursery and manager of After School and Breakfast Club. I was also the staff Governor and an active member of the PSFA, helping to raise thousands of pounds for the school. I worked at Corpus Christi for 21 years and supported our vulnerable and frontline worker’s children during the Pandemic.
I am also a Brownie Guider, being Guider in Charge of 4th Rainford Brownies for 27 years and more recently, after stepping down from running a pack, District Events Administrator for Rainford. I volunteer on a Monday morning at the Willowbrook shop in the village and hope to extend my volunteering role within this organisation.
I started my own business, Garden to Gate Grazing, during the Pandemic providing takeaway Grazing Boxes and have continued to grow the business since retiring from my role in school in November 2020.
I look forward to serving the community of Rainford as a Parish Councillor
